Deep clean before Ramadan: the “ch'kora” programme, Agadir-style

The pre-Ramadan deep clean — the “ch'kora” the whole city launches — gets scheduled 3 to 4 weeks before the month, on the four posts that saturate a house over 30 nights: degreased kitchen, descaled bathrooms, Moroccan salon and windows. Reference budgets sit on our price sheets: 40–60 MAD per hour of labour (source: /prix/femme-de-menage/, consolidated 10/2026) and 200–500 MAD per item for sofa cleaning (sheet /prix/nettoyage-canape/), all to validate with a real quote.

The calendar: count back from the first night

Ramadan 2026 falls roughly from 18 February to 19 March (astronomical dates, to be confirmed with local sighting). Field feedback is constant: deep-clean demand spikes in the 10 days before the first night, and the slots vanish. Book the ch'kora between a month and three weeks ahead, keeping the choice of day and hour.

Spread it over three staggered days: day 1 kitchen, day 2 bathrooms, day 3 salons and glass. Three 4–6 hour slots beat one 12-hour marathon.

The 4 priorities of the ch'kora

1. The kitchen: degreasing worktops, extracting the hob, emptying drawers. It eats the most hours. 2. Bathrooms: full descale of fittings and mixers, joint washing. 3. The Moroccan salon and sofas: the seddari and rghad mattresses come out, extraction-cleaned when the sun allows. 4. Windows: one clean before the month keeps iftar light when the glazing frames the table.

Pantry cupboards get sorted too: Ramadan is the best moment to clear old packets and free the storage space the month consumes daily.

The budget of the deep clean

For labour, the reference stays at 40–60 MAD per hour on our /prix/femme-de-menage/ sheet, applied over 3–4 half-days by surface. For seating, extraction cleaning of Moroccan salons and sofas runs 200–500 MAD per item (sheet /prix/nettoyage-canape/). High windows are quoted by measurement, separately.

These figures were consolidated 10/2026 and are flagged “to validate (real quote)”: during ch'kora peak demand, the hourly rate may rise, fixed in writing at the quote.

Setting up the house for 30 easy nights

Before the first night, prepare three things: a 3–4-recipe rotation plan that carries the working days, a restocked staples corner (dates, tea, water, iftar drinks) to avoid the daily dash, and a posted washing-up rota. A house that rotates picks up less, and the pre-Ramadan clean holds all month.

After Eid, a reset visit at 40–60 MAD per hour closes the cycle cleanly.

FAQ about this guide

When should the Ramadan deep clean start?

Book it 3–4 weeks before the month — for Ramadan 2026, mid-January. The last 10 days before the first night concentrate demand, and slots disappear. Spread it over three 4–6 hour days rather than one 12-hour day.

What does a ch'kora deep clean cost in Agadir?

Our price sheets publish 40–60 MAD per hour of labour and 200–500 MAD per item for extractor cleaning of sofas and Moroccan salons. Ranges dated 28/10/2026, validated with a written quote; the hourly rate can rise during peak demand.

What should I start with in the Ramadan deep clean?

The kitchen: it eats the most hours and saturates you first over 30 nights of daily cooking. Then bathrooms, the Moroccan salon, and windows last — to harvest the iftar light.
